Overnight newborn care for South Florida families
The first weeks with a newborn are exhausting. A night nanny — sometimes called a night nurse or overnight newborn care specialist — arrives in the evening and stays until morning, taking over feedings, burping, diapering and settling so parents can sleep. Mothers who are breastfeeding can be brought the baby for feeds and return to sleep right away.
MIA Nanny Agency places experienced night nannies with families in Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Cocoplum, Coconut Grove, Aventura, Key Biscayne and across Broward and Palm Beach counties, including Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Parkland and West Palm Beach. Every specialist is background checked with verified references and current infant CPR.
Most families book a night nanny for 3 to 12 weeks, five to seven nights a week, often starting the night they come home from the hospital. Many reserve during the second or third trimester because the best specialists book up early. Twins and multiples are a specialty for several of our candidates.
Overnight rates in South Florida depend on experience, number of babies and number of nights. Night nurses and newborn care specialists in Miami typically earn $30–$50 per hour, with twins and multiples at the upper end. Registered nurses (RN) are available upon request. We help you set a fair nightly rate.
Families choose one of three placement packages: Basic / Advise at $1,500 plus taxes with a 90-day replacement warranty, the Standard Package at $2,500 plus taxes with a 6-month replacement warranty (our most popular), or the Premium Package at $3,500 plus taxes with a 12-month replacement warranty. A $500 non-refundable retainer plus applicable taxes activates the search and is credited toward the selected package total. The remaining balance is due before contact details are shared, before any in-person meeting or trial, and before the first working day. We accept Zelle, Venmo and bank transfer. All agency fees are final and non-refundable; replacement support is provided instead of refunds.
Because babies don't keep business hours, neither do we. Call (305) 942-9642 any time — day or night — and a real person will help you plan overnight coverage.
A typical night with an overnight newborn specialist
Most night nannies arrive between 9 and 10 p.m. and stay until 6 or 7 a.m. On arrival she reviews the day's feeding log with the parents and prepares bottles or sets up the nursery. Through the night she handles diaper changes, soothing and burping, brings the baby to a breastfeeding mother when needed (or bottle-feeds pumped milk or formula), and records every feed and sleep in a written log. Between wake-ups she sterilizes bottles and pump parts and keeps the nursery tidy, so parents wake up to a calm house.
As the baby grows, a skilled night nanny gently works on healthy sleep habits, such as consistent bedtime routines and stretching time between night feeds when your pediatrician agrees it is appropriate. Many Miami families book five to seven nights a week for the first month and step down to two or three nights as the baby begins sleeping longer.
When to book and what it costs
We suggest contacting us during the second trimester, especially if your due date falls in the winter season when demand in Miami Beach, Brickell and Aventura is highest. Booking early gives us time to present candidates, schedule Zoom interviews and have someone confirmed before you go home from Baptist Health South Miami, Mount Sinai or Jackson Memorial. Twins and premature babies need extra planning, so tell us as soon as you know.
Night nannies are paid directly by the family, usually per night, with rates depending on experience, newborn certifications and whether there are multiples. Most overnight placements fit our Basic / Advise package at $1,500 plus taxes with a 90-day replacement warranty, which matches the short-term nature of newborn support.
